Our Story

In 2009—with more than 50 years of combined experience in the redevelopment arena—Kim and Chris recognized that, all too often, cities try but could not get redevelopment off the ground. They draft plans that either sit on shelves or do not produce the results promised by their consultants. The goal of redeveloping an area will only succeed if a consulting firm can accurately identify what is inhibiting a city’s growth. With that in mind, they formed Redevelopment Management Associates (RMA)—a highly experienced, full-service consulting and management firm, headquartered in the state of Florida, specializing in revitalizing core areas and corridors for cities, counties, and special districts nationwide.

Even our logo reflects this concept: the shape is a reference to the city of Firenze (Florence), Italy. If you look at its town grid, the waterways, bridges and neighborhoods, you will see an intricate balance of street networks and buildings combining old and new, people and places. These connections are essential for any city to function well.

As Firenze combines its multiple assets to form a beautifully symbiotic city, our logo also symbolizes that functionality by combining all the professional disciplines needed to devise a complete redevelopment strategy. We do not merely draft plans, we implement them. Our approach includes an in-depth analysis and implementation strategy, which is essential to change a downtown, a neighborhood, or a tired corridor into a thriving area that attracts businesses and private investment.

Our careers started off in the field, writing and subsequently implementing redevelopment plans and living through the day-to-day struggle of creating change. We truly understand the challenges municipalities face, and especially know what works and what does not.
