Also performing on Saturday is Purple Madness, a Tribute to Prince, to celebrate the rich legacy of the remarkable musical genius who made pop music seem more exciting and enjoyable than it had ever been before. Groove and chill to the relaxing tropical vibes of Sunday’s Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band, Caribbean Chillers, and the island reggae rhythms of Moska Project.

In addition to a great musical line-up, this free event is filled with beautiful art, delicious seafood, exciting interactive creative experiences, the third annual Chef Showcase, kid’s activities, a youth art competition, paint and sip, the all new ‘Artist Walls’ collaborative experience, appearances from Miami’s number one hit music radio station Y100, and much more. The evolution of the award-winning Dania Beach Arts & Seafood Celebration began when the Dania Beach CRA developed the Creative Arts Council and established a cultural arts plan. Capitalizing on the authentic existing “arts” brand and coordinating the CRA marketing efforts, RMA’s Sharon McCormick (RMA Director of Business Attraction & Marketing), along with the Creative Arts Council and the Dania Beach CRA staff, oversaw the creation and execution of the Inaugural Dania Beach Arts & Seafood Celebration. The inaugural DBASC social media event communications campaign gained over 650,000 online impressions over a 4-week period and, coupled with traditional print and radio advertisements, led to over 8,000 people attending the 2-day event. The event quickly grew to over 20,000 visitors annually during the 2-day event and firmly established Dania Beach as a city engaged in the development of its existing and future cultural assets. The success of this signature event would not be possible without the involvement and cooperation of the amazing team that makes it happen: residents and volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, Dania Beach CRA Staff, Dania Beach City Staff and elected officials, Dania Beach Creative Arts Council, logistics management from Standing Ovations, and the RMA Business Attraction & Marketing team, among many others.

The RMA team is proud to be a part of this exciting community and business building event. The Dania Beach CRA won the 2011 FRA Roy F. Kenzie award for Marketing and Public Relations; the 2013 FRA Roy F. Kenzie award for Cultural Enhancement; and over 20 Florida Festivals and Events Association (FFEA) Awards in 2016 – the most awards won by any entity in the state! This event is designed to engage the local community, build awareness of Dania Beach, and generate foot traffic for existing businesses while also attracting new businesses, investors and developers. It is also a part of the comprehensive CRA redevelopment, economic development and marketing strategic plan, which has led to over $500 million in private investment currently under construction or in the planning stages in Dania Beach.
