Florida Redevelopment Association 2015 Conference Highlights

The 2015 FRA Conference, “Places For People”, was held October 21-23, in Tampa, Florida at the Tampa Hilton Downtown. Highlights of this years gathering included:

• Excellent presentations from featured Keynote Speakers Vicente Guallart, chief architect of the city of Barcelona, Spain and Fred Kent, founder and president of the nonprofit organization Project for Public Spaces

• The very popular Mobile Tours: the 3rd Annual (ZEN) FRA River Boat Tour and the Central Business/ Waterfront Districts Public Art Tour

• Numerous workshops to learn best practices and recommendations from industry experts

• Lively one-on-one and group networking opportunities in the Exhibit Hall

• “Outstanding New Building Project” Award presented to Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency/Redevelopment Management Associates(RMA) for the 731 Retail Shoppes in the Northwest CRA community

• A fabulous (& delicious!) Awards and Academy Graduation Dinner ~ congrats to all graduates, including Diane Colonna (FRA-RA), RMA Sr. Redevelopment Administrator/Margate CRA Director

• RMA’s “Reinventing Your City” Book Release Party
