Kim Briesemeister considered becoming a concert pianist and then a pilot, before finding her true passion: revitalizing cities.
She founded RMA (Redevelopment Management Associates) in 2009 with Chris Brown, and the Pompano Beach-based planning firm has grown to 40 employees. It has helped cities such as West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, North Miami Beach and Oakland Park craft downtown redevelopment plans and deal with traffic, attracting businesses, historic preservation and climate change. It has three offices, although some are housed in city offices.
