RMA’s Business Attraction & Marketing team left the SUNsational Awards event with their hands full! Our client cities are now proudly decorated with 9 new awards from the recent ceremony hosted by the Florida Festivals and Events Association. This year’s event, held in Orlando,FL. – August 5-7, received 750 submissions from around the state and honors the creative innovations of its members.
“We are delighted to have been recognized with multiple awards during this prestigious ceremony,” said Sharon McCormick, RMA’s Director of Business Attraction & Marketing. “But more importantly, we are thrilled for the recognition and enhanced marketing and economic development strategy that these awards represent for our clients.”
McCormick explained that her team designs events to be ‘mini-business incubators’ that help people see the potential of an area.
“We focus on the aspirational brand of an area,” she explained. “We envision how a place can be transformed and we design events that attract people to discover the possibilities while we’re in the process of reimagining and reinventing the area.”
“East Village Uncorked is a tremendous example,” McCormick said. “We launched a monthly wine tasting and music event before this area of Pompano Beach, FL had been redeveloped with new streetscapes and updated facades. These events brought people, created buzz, helped retain businesses during construction and attracted new businesses. Now there is almost 100% occupancy.”
McCormick used the same successful strategy in Northwood Village in West Palm Beach, FL as demonstrated by the Art & Wine Promenade concept. The ‘aspirational’ arts district brand marketing and event strategy, which established an artistic ambiance, attracted and retained over 100 businesses…including 11 new art galleries, solidifying the area brand.
“RMA brings a multi-faceted approach when it reinvents a city,” said McCormick. “These awards demonstrate how significant our event creation is to the overall process.”
