RMA Principal, Chris Brown, Honored as “Citizen of the Year 2016”

The Eta Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, formed to stimulate the community with the spirit of manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift, approached RMA principal Chris Brown in 2010 with a vision. The chapter required a new Education Foundation center in the City of Pompano Beach, Florida. With Chris Brown’s guidance, the brotherhood was able to gain a lease for the property and a grant for construction.

Throughout the 6-year process, Chris Brown believed they could accomplish their mission. It was his dedication and support that earned him “Citizen of the Year” in November 2016.

The new Education Foundation center grand opening was December 8, 2106. Located on the corner of MLK and NW 10th Ave., in the Northwest District of the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Area, it is another crown jewel of Martin Luther King Blvd. The facility offers academic, community, career, character, social and skill development to young men in the neighborhood.
